Top Reasons to Hate the FDA

1) A new report contends that mistakes and mismanagement by the FDA have delayed a new computer system to track the side effects of drugs after they go on the market. The agency rejects its conclusions. It seems everyday we hear about a recall!

2)The FDA has promoted the use of cough medicines for children for years when they have never been tested on children. Old formulas have simply been re-packaged and marketed with guestimates for usage. Finally, they are admitting they are unsafe and shouldn't be used!

3)Promoting the use of vaccines for preemies

4) Fresh food guidelines

5) Mad cow mismanagement

6)Promotion of cloned food

I need to get rid of all the "over the counter" medicines we have socked away. (I'm not talking about the gazillions of supplements we have. Those are SPECIAL! :) My husband is always feeling the boys temps when they seem sick and reaching for the children's Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

Oh, BIG NEWS! When Hutton came down with an ear infection last week, and I won "worst mom of the year" for being at the gym when the teacher called me to come pick him up, Hubby picked him up and took him to the pediatrician. He also called his sister, a pediatrician in NC, and she told him the latest BIG NEWS in drugs for the kiddies: It's "safe" to take Tylenol and Ibuprofen together. The pediatrician told Hubby the same thing at the appointment. I just shook my head when he told me this, and pointed out that the Children's Tylenol has corn syrup in it, which Hutton is allergic to. And of course, I dumped out the antibiotics and gave Hutton some herbal ear drops instead and he was fine the next day. I never knew I'd become such a granola hippy chick! :)

Tylenol and Ibuprofen together? Well...whatdayaknow. And where is that research? Oh, there isn't any? Oh, you mean that no one has died yet from that combo? Oh, okay, right then. What will they come up with next?

Too funny, your "mom of the year" award. You'll have to meet me in the parking lot over that one and we can fight over it. I AGAIN was late to the bus. THe sad part, my kids weren't even nervous since they are now used to it! :)

I am a teacher. I have never had this many children with ADD/ADHD in my class as I have had the last 3 years. Out of 22 kids, 5 kids are diagnosed. Last year I had 7 and the year before, 6. I know this blog is about Autism, but I think they are related. What toxins are in our environment that not only kids, but so many adults claim to now have attention issues?

Tylenol is not safe for anyone. It lowers glutathione in your body which removes all the toxins from your body.

And guess what pregnant women are told is safe? TYLENOL. Well if you are pregnant and the toxins are not being removed from your body.........

Hi Mama. Thanks for visiting. I didn't know that about Tylenol. So interesting and sad!

So yes, I agree ADD/ADHD is part of the spectrum in many ways. A sister disorder. In fact, the new DSM will include it as part of the ASD umbrella of disorders (PDD, Aspergers, SD, etc).

I am a preschool teacher and I too see what you are seeing. I also see it over at the elementary school where my kids go.

As Karyn Serrousi coins it, this generation, Generation D. For damaged.
