I can't imagine what harm this incident has done to his self esteem.<BR/><BR/>My youngest brother (labeled LD in primary school) struggled with esteem issues throughout school. He struggled to learn to read, reading comprehension, and penmanship. About 15 years ago, when he was in the 2nd grade his teacher took his homework assignment and crumpled it up into a ball in front of the entire classroom. He came home sobbing. He was humiliated in front of the class after putting in several hours into that homework assignment the night before. HOURS...in 2nd grade no less. Needless to say, my mother was furious and had a come to Jesus meeting with the principal and teacher the next day about how we ought to be building these hard working kids up, not tearing them down - in front of the entire class no less.
